Preparation

One week today I will be getting on a plane and heading towards Europe.  I feel utterly and dangerously unprepared.. I need to clean up my room for Rhi to move in. I need to decide what to take and what to leave.  I need to find out how heavy my luggage can be.  Do I change money into Euros before I go? How do I do that? Should I really take a sleeping bag? It's so big! When will my citi bank visa card thing arrive? How will I get from the airport to Kylie's house? Where do I buy train tickets? Did I pay too much for insurance? Should I get a simcard for my phone while I am over there? What if I get stuck without internet access? Should I take my guitar? What if it gets damaged? And my camera? Should I take both lenses or just one? Just how cold will it be over there? Should I bring gloves? Do I have enough money? etc etc etc...

I guess part of the definition of 'Adventure' must include it all being scary and risky. But also FUN!

God must be like "Relaaaaaaaaaaaaaax Hannah."

Ok I'll try.

It's been a crazy long time since I posted.. I've been in Dubbo the last month doing the whole Christmas thing and then helping my folks pack up the house and move to Newcastle! Woo! The move is (sort of) finished as of yesterday and now I am back home in my cozy room with a tonne of extra junk from my parents house. I was up until 1am-ish sorting through it and other stuff in my room doing a massive purge of stuff. So much stuff. Yuhk.

Anyway here are some photo's from my camera of this summer so far! Lots of fun things.

Yes it is holidays

YES IT IS HOLIDAYS!
ALSO
YES I WILL START GOING TO BED BEFORE 1AM.. TOMORROW.
YES I WILL EAT BREAKFAST.
YES I WILL GO OUTSIDE INTO THE SUNLIGHT.
YES I WILL CONTINUE TO SHOWER AND BRUSH MY TEETH EVERY DAY.
YES I WILL DO MORE THAN "SLOB AROUND" TODAY.

NO FACEBOOK IS NOT A SUBSTITUTE FOR REAL HUMAN INTERACTION.
NO I MAY NOT EAT ONLY CEREAL AND BREAD.
NO I MAY NOT HAVE ANOTHER CUP OF COFFEE.
NO I MAY NOT WATCH ONE MORE CAT-RELATED YOUTUBE VIDEO.
NO I MAY NOT CONTINUE TO NEGLECT THE GROWING PILE OF WASHING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FLOOR, EVEN IF I DO HAVE ENOUGH SOCKS AND UNDIES TO LAST FOR AGES.

Broken hill holidays

Well it's been too long since I wrote a decent blog post.. At the moment I'm sitting in the backyard and it is super windy. I was in the hammock but I was scared the breeze would blow me right out.. The sun is nice and hot and the wind is cold so my body doesn't really know what's what. Anyway Ill tell ya about some of the things I've been doin eh?

It's summer holidays! I am still out in broken hill.. The musical is finished, I've been playing squash, doing some screen printing with my step mum and sister, playing board games, going caroling, swimming, drinking lots of cups of tea and reading good books.

Gib and I made a version of his board game the other day. It's called the animal game.. We made all the pieces and the board and the box for it to go in, it took forever but was so much fun! Since then he's been thinking about other board games a lot and we've messed around making new characters and he even started testing out making moulds for the pieces. I love making stuff.

Oh I went swimming at the local pool yesterday.. I was happily floating along looking at the bottom and saw this funny little shape. I swam over to it and was like "hey what's this?" I picked it up and it was SQUISHY and I figured out it was a POO sitting on the bottom of the pool and inwardly screamed and swam away. I told the pool people and they came with a giant net and fished it out. I CAN'T BELIEVE I TOUCHED A POO.

So.. That was fun.

Hm ok my neck is getting sore from typing on my iPod. I might go now.

Holidays: Part 2

We left for Broken hill at roughly 3:20am this morning. We hit a roo approximately 5:30am. We were picked up by the N.R.M.A man around 8am. We met with Jo's Dad and ate breakfast at a cafe in Nyngan around 9am. I booked a bus ticket to Broken Hill from Nyngan around 10:30am. Dad and Jo and Morris left with Jo's Dad around 12pm. I went back into the cafe we had breakfasted in and ordered another around 12:05pm. This coffee isn't as nice as the first one.

I will catch a bus at around 4:15pm. What can I do until then? Write this blog.. Then what?? Who knows. I will arrive in Broken Hill around 11pm. Rachie will finish work around 12am

The sign outside of this cafe says "Come in and try a burger the way they used to be before McDonalds stuffed 'em up" ehehehe!

Holidays: Part 1

Hello! Welcome to what will probably be a mixture of insanely boring and moderately interesting posts I will make while on my 2 month holiday! I'd like to say that I will post everyday.. But we all know this wont happen.

Man oh man it is good to finish. I submitted my last assignment on Tuesday - 65 self portraits. The last week has been a blur of paint, ink, charcoal, facebook, star trek, wine, friends, music, late nights and crazy sleep ins. I had a bunch of people around last Saturday to hangout and draw - it was really fun! Soph and Gilbert brought bacon! Nice! Some more peoples dropped around the next day too which was really good - total study incentive. I'd kind of been sitting on my bum on Facebook till they arrived..

At the moment I am sitting on the floor at my friend Rachaels house in Newtown! Yipee! It is great to see her, she is one of my favorite people. Polly and I are both here.. I took her cage apart and stashed it in the bottom of my bag, and she sat on my shoulder while I caught the train. We catch another train/bus to Dubbo tomorrow. Hopefully she will be as well behaved tomorrow as the was tonight and not try going exploring while I am napping on the journey.

Dad if you're reading this tune out for a second. I got a bit lost in Newtown tonight. I went to Rachaels workplace - a nearby pub - to grab her house key and got confused on the way back. A trip that should have taken 5 minutes took about 45. Rgh. Thank goodness for the helpful people lurking on the dark streets of Darlington at midnight who gave me directions.

What else happened.. Oh yeah on journey down the train stopped at Hornsby station for about 15 minutes. I didn't really understand what was going on until I saw a crowd of security officers and cityrail people flocking out of one particular carriage ushering two slightly blood covered young men yelling their heads off with them.. I guess they had a disagreement?

Tomorrow - Dubbos! Familys! Samaras and Jethros! Haases! Lauras? Cold temperatures! w000! Then on Saturday BROKEN HILL! oOO...
